Meet the Team

Niki Fixtion
With over 10 years of experience as a freelance editor, I bring a deep love of storytelling and a strong editorial instinct to every manuscript. While I am available and able to edit any genre of manuscript, my favorites include urban fantasy, romantasy, and LGBTQ+. Especially books that thrive on emotion, magic, and identity. My approach is collaborative and educational with some chaos sprinkled over everything. My priority is to be accessible and focused on helping authors strengthen their voice and vision. I’m passionate about working on stories that celebrate diverse characters and relationships. I do not take on projects that include non-consensual sex, and I prioritize working with authors who share a commitment to thoughtful, inclusive storytelling. Whether you're drafting your first novel or polishing your tenth, I’m here to help you shape your world and captivate your readers.

After working with a range of clients, I’ve found my strength lies in finding what’s missing, and coaching authors to that “aha!” moment that takes their manuscript to the next level. I love focusing on what drives the characters, how to show who the MCs are without “telling,” and, of course, the melody of language that flows in the novels I love the most—like Legends and Lattes and Gideon the Ninth. My approach is thorough, with a curiosity that aims to elevate, encourage, and inspire. My goal is to balance gentleness with the honest strength needed to hit on heavier topics, like responsible representation. I’m always thrilled to work on a novel with unique worldbuilding, complex characters, and powerful emotional arcs. Bonus points if there’s kissing and sword fights!

I’m a graphic artist and storyteller with a passion for celebrating culture through art. With five years of experience in illustration and design, I specialize in creating book related art for the author community. I hold an Associate of Arts degree, a Bachelor’s degree in Art History and I also studied Visual Communications – Graphic Design at Lone Star College, where I refined my creative skills and developed a love for design. Before diving into the art world full-time, I proudly served in the U.S. Army. That experience shaped my work ethic, resilience, and commitment to telling meaningful stories—especially those that often go unheard. Today, I write and illustrate children’s books that reflect my proud Mexican heritage, bringing culturally rich, inclusive stories to life for young readers. I also enjoy writing short anthology stories to benefit many charities. When I’m not drawing or writing, I’m probably curled up with a good book, supporting fellow indie authors, or engaging with the creative community. I’m a strong advocate for independent voices and love being part of a movement that values heart, diversity, and authenticity.
